Bought a fig marked Brown Turkey early this season. The figs that it produced were huge compared to the brown turkey that I have already. I have determined that it is a California Brown Turkey. I will post more pictures when I harvest this whopper fig this week. In the second picture you can barely make out the red stitches on the baseball.

Mind you ,if it has a large cavity in the center then,is not that havy or big.I did have one like that and it had a large cavity, and so it looks big but we can't eat the cavity.
Hey, Albert! Wondering how this fig did for you since you posted these pics? Thanks!
My Brown Turkey produces fruits that large, it's from Monrovia. The larger fruits like this taste thin and watery, not much figgy flavor.
Be good to stuff it like a turkey if it has a void in the center!....pun intended.....
Yes it has an open cavity if picked at the right time and weather permitting it is not bad. It is great however when stuffed with cheese..It grows well... last year It froze back to the ground and then put on 3ft of new growth along with 1/2 dozen fruits. I better protected it this year and we will see..
