I received this cutting on 19 February 2010 and today we picked three more (for a total of four this season). This is a very good fig. It is rain, heat, humidity, and drought tolerant. It will likely dry on the tree (if it ever stayed that long) and quite difficult to describe but here is a try...

That is the name it had when I received it. Hey, what's in a name?
Very Nice looking fig JD.
Jon - Thanks for making it available. It should be in the ground this Fall.
JD that fig looks real nice good job and only after one year? Is it an aggressive rooter as well? How tall is your tree? Added to my list of must haves. Thanks JD
i wish you guys would stop showing pictures and discribing how good these different figs are. the list keeps getting bigger and bigger for figs i'll have to get now. thank goodness i have a lot of room to put them, hahaha.

Camuna small black eh ?then Jon writesThat is the name it had when I received it. Hey, what's in a name? i can see where Jon is coming fromhe keeps the name and description as sent to him. But for someone like me that does not grow those types i have to be careful inHey whats in a name !
Celt - You are welcome. Twenty months (20) to get those figs some closer to two years. Yes, it is an aggressive rooter. It is whip that is almost 6 feet tall. I chose it because of the name so I was expecting a dark fig but that just does not matter. It is a very good fig and unquestionably a keeper. If it gets better in the ground and prospers, then we will be very pleased.Luke - My wish list has 74 and counting...Martin - I said the same thing and yes, you would be careful like I was. I kept waiting for the fig to turn and it never did so it was very wrinkled and very very good. Unless something magical happens, wait until you see the photos for what is supposed to be Sicilian Black JR. If it is good, the I will simply say "That is the name it had when I received it. Hey, what's in a name?"This will be the third fig from trusted sources that has been mislabeled. Ouch!
Another fig that likes the coolness of November here in 8B...Camuna Small Black. It has ripened about two figs per week since 30 September. Since 8 October, the Mocking birds have sampled the ripe ones and ignorantly, I was still using the coffee filters (Note: the switch to newspaper has been helpful; if only for a 'change of pace'). Today was proof that the newspaper helps.
I have one called Val Camonica...
