Panache never  swells  ????

Violette de bordeaux  brebas not swelling this year either ?

Appreciate any help

I have a VDB that is not swelling either. It has 10 to 15 figs on it. They are green with some color on them. Full sun and get watered every day (they are in a 5g pot) because they dry out fast. It is growing ok. I noticed it has FMV. I give it half strength fish fertilizer every Sunday. So what am I doing wrong?

Eeither pinch a quite a few off, fertigate more, (half strength miracle grow is cheap) put in a larger light colored pot...

Maybe all the above?

Just wait.

Yep, just wait is good advise. Also stop fertilizing mars unless you are trying to get more growth. In that case fertilize and pull the figs off. Once they start ripening the tree really wants to focus on that.

Thank you all for your fast advice.
I generally don't fertilize so I will start that and also WAIT !
You're all very kind , thanks

Hi,
Depends on the age of the tree.
The tree must be at least three years at your place to then ripen figs on normal schedule.
Until then, they are unpredictable and may try to ripen too late.
How old are your trees ? How big ?
And I hope that you know that Panaché is considered to be a late ripening variety ...
I'm giving it a try in Zone7. Not sure I'll ever get a ripe fig here in ground ... Future will tell !

The tree is about 8 years old , it was about 10ft high until this spring when I hacked it down to 5ft.
Its always produced loads of fruit and we live in N Calif so a lot of fog and I guess not enough really warm days.
I tried rubbing them with that olive oil trick ....nothing !
I don't want to pull it out it's quite a beautiful tree
