I'm looking for this fig.I found it on aarons nursery and not sure if it's legit.The second picture is from wayside gardens and they have it as negronne and I know for sure it's not negronne.Thanks for your help and God Bless.

I have seen that fig picture used by willis orchards who said it was Italian everbearing (what they sent me was celeste).  It is currently pictured on an ebay listing for 'Magnolia" by the potters garden, and someone else uses it constantly on ebay advertizing something else thats not even close.  When I asked the company whythey were using a bogus picture, they said because they liked the way it looked.

Why can't the take a picture of their own fruit tree. This looks like it has been used in many website as you guys noted. It reminds me of the Bursa fig of Turkey which is as popular as the black mission and exported through out Europe.

Yes Bass Bursa or Akova both from Turkey look like picture 1.I google Bursa fig and they looked alot like pic 1 thank you guys for your help.Now I just need to know where I can buy one of these?LOL

The same happens on Ebay. Almost no one uses their own pix. And almost no one uses a pix of the variety of what they are selling. Why do that when you can rip off someone's cool pix and sell your stuff to unsuspecting people?

I purchased mine from Parks seeds as a Petite Negra a long time ago.

It has since entered the Fig Heaven.

Because of the ribs, it does not fit variety "Morucha", but it resembles Dauphine.
It would also resemble Ronde de Bordeaux, but RdB skin is prone to cracking.

The first fig looks like Violette Sollies. Not sure about the second photo.

I think Violette Sollies and Bursa black too.

Why is that where its from Jason?

Supposedly the origin is eastern Spain (Catalonia region), but the name is French - the translation is either "Sun purple" or "Purple sun" if taken from the Provençal dialect, I believe.  My ancestors are northeastern French, so I'm not utterly familiar with southern coastal stuff ;)

Actualy Violette sollies is a spanish variety also known as  Brogiotto nero and many, many other names. I have few really small trees that I just bought. I'm from Bulgaria.

Thanks Penandpike do you like cornelian cherries I grow them here in Michigan one of them I grow is from Bulgaria.

I do. My father has a very nice tree.  We also have a tradition here in Bulgaria. At New year children cut a branch from a cornelian tree and hit the backs of adults, promising helth and wealth for the new year, then get some money in return. :)

Thanks for sharing Penandpike my father is the one who got me into cornelian cherries he grew up with them where he was born in Albania.
