can pipe dreams come true?????

Hello,
is it possible for young potted fig trees that look dead to come back from the roots. Does it ever happen? I lost a few this winter in my green house where they looked fine till mid February for the most part but now they look like they are dried right out brittle, DEAD. I watered them once a month till march, then as the greenhouse started warming i checked them more frequently and then really started to notice the die back now, DEAD. Could the High day / night temps fluctuations have stressed them too much? Is it a pipe dream hoping they might return?
Thanks,
Mike

I have several that are resurrecting as we speak. They are totally dead, tip to ground. But I slowly see new shoots popping out around the base. And I had a "dead" one that I threw into a corner last year, planning to dump and reuse the pot later. When I went to grab the container several months later, there was a new little fig. I just potted that one up to a larger container this weekend.

Do not give up hope until about July. Figs can surprise you.

Thanks John I was so disappointed with myself when I seen them, but I will follow your advice and keep them till July.
Thanks,
Mike

I learned many years ago, not to count a tree out too soon.  Treat the trees you think might be dead just like all of the other trees.  More often than you think, it will reward you for the attention.

yupe. 2 trees i left to die came back. i was sure they were dead after last yr's fast acting lime incident...
