I want to graft a green growing tip from a one year fig onto a vigorous 3 year old tree. Can I graft a green tip onto the green tip of a receiving branch or even onto last years wood for that matter? Or is a growing tip too fresh and weak? Thanks.
I would imagine that green tissue would require more water in it than a typical cutting. I'll happily stand corrected.
Try it. I imagine green to green would work best, much like how tomato grafts (or subtropical trees) can be done...
