EBay # 322229218115 Jolly Tiger cuttings not variegated. Why would you show a pic of variegated? Is non variegated a panache? I think the seller is out of country and you won't receive until October. The seller states in the description, and in bold type, that the photos were from the previous year and that this year the leaves came back not variegated. Seller further states in the description, again in bold type, that the plant has reverted back to solid colour. I do not proclaim that I am a fig expert, in fact, quite the contrary. But why would you put a pic of a Jolly Tiger when its not? What's the purpose? I believe the seller is out of the country and you will not receive until October.

I do not know any of the parties involved. I do however grow jolly tiger and this year some of my shoots reverted. It is still a jolly tiger. It did not become another fig. I read the post and it seems perfectly legit. He clearly states in raised letters what he has just so no one overlooks the facts. Jolly Tiger is a chimera and even with the best of efforts is no assurance that cuttings will be variegated. Perhaps over time variegation will reappear. __________________ John NH Z5

This seller robrod815 is a huge scammer. I was scammed last year on what was said to be Dall ' Osso cuttings. Lesson learned.

If you want a Jolly Tiger buy it from a trustworthy source. Order from Harvey, Bass, Figirific or plant-creator

Here's a picture of 3 Jolly Tigers that lost there variegation I just messing around with them seeing what they will do if you notice the one in the front put out in all yellow limb that will never survive I had 2 other ones that actually pushed out a variegated limb at the bottom but thats pretty rare once they go all green theres usually no going back __________________ Connecticut - Zone 6B Wish List - Bordissot negra rimada

Hi Dave, Those trees seem to lack some sun - I could be wrong of course. A variegated plant needs sun to keep variegation or they turn to full green. I had that happen on other stuff, not figtrees. Worth a try. Put one in full sun and see if it gets back to variegated. The one with the white shoot, I would cut it halfway (like a giga-pinch ) and put her full sun and see if the new buds come out variegated. __________________ ------------------------ Climate from -25°C to + 35°C Only cold hardy figtrees can make it here

JD they could of used full sun because they grew spindly in the greenhouse "very thin trunk" the tree that has the white leaves I could probably cut the green limb off and pinch the white limb and possible whatever emerges maybe variegated You need to keep Jolly Tigers out of direct sunlight otherwise all the white or light portions of the leaves will burn off Heres some nice Jolly Tigers that I am growing __________________ Connecticut - Zone 6B Wish List - Bordissot negra rimada

Update: I put an eBay ad up for not variegated Jolly Tigers. About everything was about the same as aforementioned ad, but 3 days instead of one and a pic of not variegated JT. Mine only sold for $30. The previous ones sold for $59 & $46 using the variegated pic. Come to find out the buyer was interested in variegated. I promptly refunded. Conclusion: I think most people don't know what variegated means.
