Canadien fig growers

I would like any type of fig cutting. I would only like to receive cuttings by people that do not have to pay much money, this is why i labeled it Canadien fig growers. PLEASE, I REALLY WOULD LIKE A CUTTING!
Thanks!

Be careful to not be overbearing in asking.

A single request is usually enough around here, friend.  If it's meant to come, it will come.  Patience is a virtue, one that is critical to rooting those cuttings once you get them =)

As I had mentioned in my PM some days, I will send you some cuttings before the end of March (& yes, as you suggested between 25~30 or earlier even). That will be after I send to others that I have promised to or are due because of mutual trade. A few things had delayed taking my cuttings but things are getting better now and you will receive these cuttings.

On second thoughts it will help if I send you before the others and you can get busy rooting. It will be shipped on Monday after the weekend. “At speedy you're a Somebody”.
You have to show patience with cuttings during rooting to see 'a root'.

My advise is find out what works best for your zone. In my zone, southern BC the best variant is Desert King. Grasping all kind of cuttings may just be a waste of your time. If you know what works in your zone, head to the nearest nursery and get a big tree. Propagation from cuttings is fun but don't forget it takes years(5 to 6 yrs) for the tree to be productive because we have a short growing season in Canada. Challenges in propagating from cuttings is not a matter of ABC's -- a host of issues from cutting care, cutting rooting temperature, rooted cutting medium & moisture, up-potting etc -- cuttings & a young fig plant can die so easy.  I don't mean to be discouraging but judging from your enthusiam racing way ahead with wanting to grow from scratch than wanting to enjoy fresh tree ripen figs soonest possible with least problems. Also with an older tree, you have the opportunity to harden its limbs better in preparation for winter.

Sorry everyone for not showing patience. paully, i have a greenhouse which i already grow small fig plants in from Lebanon ( hot place), oranges, pomegranates.i would guess that most figs would grow inside my greenhouse but not sure. on the other hand, the local nurseries do not even have fig trees because it is too cold here. this is why i bought a greenhouse!

Ps: i have rooted 2 cuttings, and yes they take patience :p

Most nurseries in Vanouver/Fraser Valley carry fig trees. In Vancouver I think fig trees  popularity is close to apple or plum trees and fig trees are commonly found. Unless you are not from Vancouver/Fraser Valley(not sure about Toronto/Montreal) they may be less around. Nurseries here are beginning to stock them for the new season. Most varieties sold by nurseries here would not ripen a full main crop. Pot culture even with GH help will give you figs but not necessary volume and taste. I have a friend in the interior of BC, because of the colder zone she is in, the trees are grown in pots and have to be brought into the house as the greenhouse cannot take the cold unless she runs a heater 24hrs. Her trees can only go to GH by mid April and got to be out by mid Oct. Temp in my friend zone can easily hit -20C(hit -40 this winter). Knowing what works in your zone is key -- late varieties even with GH is of not much help as figgy taste is much lacking. I have 2 more fig friends who love figs so much & they build a house for their favourite in ground tree and still it is a hit & miss when comes to figgy taste inspite of heat provided by a heater. Letting forum members know your zone & what varieties works are salient points. This info can help you to venture further by trying other variants as supplementry.
