I love candied dried figs and buy  "Roberts Calimyrna figs " every Christmas. tThey are a sticky candied dried fig. A small pack of about 10 figs will set you back about $6 Dollars. I would love to learn how to make them. Has anyone made candied dried figs or does anyone know a recipe for making them like Roberts Figs? I looked on the net and am not convinced that the recipes given would produce a fig like the Roberts Figs.

I do not know, but there is something special about the Calimyrna fig which cannot be matched by any other fig, for drying. The who breeding program of Ira Condit was geared to find a common fig that had the "something special", and he did not achieve it.
