Thank you Francisco

I do not know the date of ripen fruit in first picture.

The owner said that the ripen one is fruit in the end of sumer.

And the last picture is just today. Those cuttings will be send to Thailand.

Hopefully, I want to build fig wasp homeland.

But I wonder why there is no wasp or any gal inside the fruit.

????

- On the first picture there are bits and pieces of various dead male wasps which are wingless and 'gold' colored.

- A good number of females have already abandoned that fruit, but there are galls having still  wasps inside....some seem to be ready to be  liberated... others still through the last metamorphosis stages.

- The top right half-fig which shows galls still containing wasps, also shows the 'tunnel' cut under the ostiole which has signs of good use by the wasps already gone to the outside through the fig eye

Can you show please, a yearly weather (temp/rain /sun hr)  graph of the region where you intend to seed the Caprifigs ?

Thank you sir

This is the region that I would like to introduce wasp.

first of all, I have to grow Caprifig as their home.

Then bring the wasp for that.

Probably too hot for the insect left on totally exposed trees.
35ºC seems to be the upper limit although having witnessed the fall of complete Profichi crops around 30/32ºC.
The very high humidity levels may create problems on ripening

Figgyme,  ..FG1980,

There are no established limits for those parameters.
What I said before is from my own witnessing and discussions with lobbyists and farmers.

My own feeling tells me that caprifigs, need mild temp gradients between Jan/Feb and May -Spring
Best years are when winters are cool in the region (temp descending in Feb to 3 to 4ºC occasionally) and around 25ºC in April/May.
Heat waves - 32/35ºC  (occasional on some years in April or May) will easily destroy the full Profichi crops
These two months are critical.
More protected trees and/or old fig trees with large canopies not getting full sun exposure, North facing with
shading boulders and ravines suffer less.

Here you have for your guidance, the approx yearly averages of 3 places where caprifigs have been present for centuries. Two of them well inside the Mediterranean basin, the other (Lagos) just outside facing the Atlantic Ocean.
