at my work here we go thru alot of these cardboard tubes. they are 3" wide and the cardboard is 1/8" thick and very rigid. they also hold up very well to moisture. i've used them on my fishing kayak to store certain lures and they typically get soaked and have lasted many years. i'm thinking of using these tubes to protect my small trees that are only a couple feet tall and still a single stem. i can slide the tube over the tree and then stuff it with insulation. there are even plastic end caps for these tubes. any thoughts? has anyone tried something similar like using concrete form tubes for slightly larger trees?ThanxStevin

I have received cuttings in tubes, both round and triangle. Some are rooted and some are not.Suzi
That looks like it would work good to protect young trees.
protect them from what?
probably winter care. somethng like that will be very heavy for shipping.
i use usps box scraps to make 3 inch x 9 inch box pots. i then use newpapper plastic bags as liners for propagation.
yes, for winter protection in a unheated garage....rather than using fiberglass insulation, could i use shredded dry leaves to stuff the tubes?
