Caught Red Handed!

Since I moved my cuttings to larger containers I have had a few mysterious things happening. I noticed depressions in the potting soil a couple inches down and across. I thought maybe the dirt during heavy rains was sinking out of this part of the container. I thought it was also possible birds were searching for worms. Then I noticed dirt being pushed up and out of some of the cups and found that sunflowers were taking over some of the pots. I didn't think any of the mixes I had contained sunflower seeds. At least I hoped not! Turns out something had a different idea what the fig pots should be used for (endless supply of sunflower seeds)! I have to give him credit the sunflowers were doing well until I pulled them.

Nothing cuter than a little Chipmunk.  Too bad it's screwing with your figs.  I wouldn't mind having one for a pet....but, that's the kid in me talkin'.

Frank

I want one. Until I get it and in sure things would be different. Removed 4 squirrels last week.

My favorite animal growing up, but my wife hates them....they cache food in her car's air manifold all the time.  No one tell her, but I think it's kind of funny (they leave my car alone!)  They haven't started messing with my figs though!

ROTFL!

I don't know about chipmunks, but the darn squirrels are into everything I plant. If I have pots, I have found that I must elevate them on a pedestal of smaller diameter to a height beyond their reach. They have stolen, planted, replanted, vandalized or dug up anything I plant. Talk about your uninvited guest!
