--- CDD Noir question (origins)

Hi all,

I have seen CDDNs that have different origins, one from Baud and one from the Emma Prusch Farm Park.

Just curious, are those the same CDDNs? Anybody has both to compare?

CdDN are both from europe. however, it seems general belief is that CdDN out of CA has more issues with FMV than CdDN from baud or other european sources.

CdDN is a known variety so they are same figs.

i have CdDN from CA. i really haven't noticed severe problem. however, it didn't ripen figs last yr for me to say much about it. CdDB that i have is from USDA/UCD, no specific issue what so ever. tree grew well, put on fig and ripen in time for me to enjoy it.

i have Pastiliere from both USDA/UCD and baud through trade. i can definitely tell that baud Pastiliere is much more healthy, at least the cuttings i've rooted.

Thanks, Pete. So you are saying they are the same figs, good to know.

same figs. just one has been in CA for awhile since it was imported.

I believe if you were to get the Col De Dama Noir from california Rare Fruit growers, Ted kennedy donated it to USDA which is their source so if you can find cuttings from the original I bet it should be relatively clean.
