Cecil - Your Unknown Parent Tree

Oh I am really glad you didnt burn that one. Lovely looking figs too what was the problem with it not productive?

No i could not burn it because it was not its fault, what it did was not ripen all the fruit it actually needed a longer season . The fruit was decent and excellent at others times but after 7 seasons of eating them its time to move on to other types.
Now i have another plant called maderia black that im trying out it also needs a long season but fruit is smaller than this plant and i will see what i can do and how it will respond, i just hope i can get some to ripen and they are good as some say they are and not just another sweet fig then i will keep it if only it ripens part of crop. If i see that the taste is just outright sweet i will part with this plant as well as im getting more descriminating with my trees and wont keep them because it has a nice name, one or 2 plants i can deal with only getting part of crop if they are to my palate A+ in taste.

I'm looking for a great tasting VERY productive Fig

I have what I hope will fill that bill for me

Blk.Marseilles VS coming soon!

Cecil have never heard of anything negative about Blk. Marseilles VS so im sure it will be addition for you.

Hi Nelson,

I'm like you, I have only heard great things about the B M VS

I had one that came from VS, but I killed it (I think the darn Roundup) got it, I'm a very lucky Guy that someone is sending me another one, you can bet yer Aeros I won't even get close to the next one with Roundup.

I have sent a soil sample to SFA, should have the results back before long, I might post the soil analysis later.

The fig photos at the start of this post are amazing. Are there other good quality figs that typically get that big?
