Central Florida fig info please

Hello all. I am looking for a good fig tree to grow in a container on a patio. Research has shown me that the VDB may be one of the best varieties for this in the space coast area of Florida. I am open to suggestions of this is not the case as well but what I am looking for is someone who has already done the work of rooting and growing a cutting. I had a half dozen that were rooted last year and somehow they all died. Instead of trying this again I am looking for a place where I can buy a start of this or whatever the recommended cultivar is. I would prefer to find a place for local pickup however of shipping something can be done reliably I would entertain that option. I don't have a need to buy a tree a couple feet tall from a local nursery for $30 as this somewhat eliminates the fun of watching it grow and whatnot but something between a full size tree and a cutting. Thank you for your help!

Ps. I am open to other patio type fruit or citrus trees as well. I have room for two or three small trees. Thanks.

If you're right on the coast you may have trouble with salt.  I set my mother up with a few plants and she has to cover the soil surface with newspaper or the plants get salt poisoning.  She removes the newspaper to water then replaces it.  LSU Scott's Black and Long Yellow were recommended to me by a central FL coast resident as her most salt tolerant plants.

Are those friendly to grow out of a pot?

This is some  fig info from the University of Florida.

That was a very helpful read thanks! I noticed that lsu purple says it is an ever bearing tree. That seems like a trait that would be convenient. Any idea how they are for keeping on a patio in a pot? Or where to get one of these trees? Thanks!!!

Is there anyone in cocoa/Melbourne FL area that has some cuttings they have started that may want to thin their pile? I can pay some $ as wel. Thanks.
