Saw a message board that said CFL, I think it stands for compact fluorescent lights, with the daylight spectrum do well for indoor plants. Obviously I am very new at this. Does anyone have experience. I want to swap out the kitchen lights for the fig cuttings growing in the kitchen window. Note in the photos the small cuttings are all window light while the large cutting is in my office and gets mostly office fluorescent. These cuttings were received and put in boxes to start rooting in October. For whatever reason I cannot get the photos to upload right side up even if orienting before upload.

Yes cfl's will do very well. If you have room in the window keep them there too and just add the cfl's so you get 16 hrs a day of light on them and they will do fine.

Thanks Jeff! A bulb burnt out in the kitchen so I thought I would be a good husband and replace them all. Hehe

I had a cfl in my kitchen once too. I never turned it off and it lasted 2 years. My understanding is they last longer leaving them on than if you turn them off and on. To dispose of them you can just take them to lowes or home depot and they usually have a bin as soon as you walk in the door.
Looks like you have a great start so the CFL's will only help things.

I just got a shop light from walmart with grow bulbs works great.

Got them in. Wow are they bright. Ha!

What did ya get

Only 13w (60 watt comparison) but it's a 5 light fixture. The house is glowing when they are on! Wife asked if she needed sunscreen cus it was like walking into a tanning bed! I will post growth update pics in a week or so. =) I replaced standard warm light 60 watt standard bulbs

I never tried one but I think you would need glasses to run those. :).

If I ran five 300w bulbs I bet you could see my house from outer space.

I have the 300w bulbs in the daylight type(6500k) in my backyard,and yes they can be seen from space!!!!!!
