Left overs from cutting packages sent to my friends are kept for a while in the fridge and when Mrs. starts complaining for lack of space... wrap those bits and pieces of fig scions in a sheet of wet newspaper then inside a plastic bag horizontaly, and hang all that on a nail in the wall inside the washing room.
Occasionally, say once a week a couple of mouth sprays into the bag will keep humidity on an acceptable level.
Later on, other more demanding friends, say no to my suggestion of a couple of good fig scions and instead say.... if they were already rooted--?!
Right, for some of these special friends I disentangle ( warm water helps a lot) a few of these cuttings
and pot them in 1Litre cups with a standard soil mix.
