Chicago Hardy still pumping out figs

We've had highs in the 50s and lows in the 30s.  This is what I picked today.  The figs are still good as long as you wait for them to wrinkle on the tree.  The one at the lower left I picked off the tree a while back.  It was in the sun and turned purple where the sun hit it.   I opened it up and it tasted lemony.  A fig picked too soon (like the bottom cut one) will have some of that same lemony taste in addition to the usual sweet taste of the fig.  There are still more to come unless a frost hits  :)

Congrats Bob.  Hope you get 'em to continue ripening!

Mike

Very nice to have some good figs this late in the season!
Thanks for letting us take part Bob.

Make lemonade.

My in ground HC also still tryin to work some magic. My HC fruit look amazingly identical to yours Bob including the big ones vs the shrivelled up ones. Guess it's a small fig world afterall.

Underated these are for sure in my opinion.

Hardy Chicago is a great fig.  One of the best in my opinion.  Very nice photos guys.
