Since we covered so many other types of figs and since I saved all these links I thought I would post some that I found.

Enjoy

Artux known as the "fig of villages", fig cultivation area of 3,000 mu, can produce 6,000 tons this year, is the main channel for farmers to increase income.

thanks for the pictures!

Enjoyed those pictures thanks.

Very interesting photos--does anybody recognize the variety?

What neat pictures, thank you for sharing them!

I have no idea what the yellow variety is, but they look like they would taste very good. I'd love to have some cuttings of that one.

Man, they look delicious.

The yellow figs from what I have read are named after the city they are grown in so far I have found Xinjiang fig and Atushi Fig both look identical.

Hey ya'll... be careful of those links. I clicked on the first one and was looking at the pictures and my AVG popped up an alert, asking me if it wanted me to move a virus to the vault. Thank goodness I had it or that Chinese site would have gotten in my computer.

Thanks Gooddaughter I removed the first link, I too have avg but it didnt warn me.

Oldest fig tree in the world is located in the Xinjiang area, 500+ years old,
produces the yellow figs you see in the picture.

Saw the tree (dormant) last year during a visit to China.

Is it my imagination or do the people in the photos look distinctly other than Chinese?

Bob, they are Uyghurs.

Western part of China many people have a Mongolian heritage.
China is a big country,

Where i can buy Cuttings?

Native fig of China - Xinjiang. Its not like other China fig that bought into the country like Jin So Fen, Bo Ji Hong etc. But 1 thing for sure I will never buy any cutting from China anymore. Too many scammer. Especially on this variety. In my place there are 2 type of Xinjiang - ori Xinjiang ang fake xinjiang

The fig is named " Xin Jiang Zao Huang".
Xin Jiang (Sinkiang Province); Zao Huang  (Early Yellow)... as ADelmanto has already mentioned in a post.
Sinkiang was original Eastern Turkestan located in the path of Mongol hordes, then became Russian Turkestan during Czarist Russia and finally after Mao Tze Tung long march it became Xin Jiang (Sinkiang). The people are of Turkic origin and are called Uyghurs/Uighurs (as Nelson mentioned) and have been struggling for autonomy. Central Asia, including XinJiang has historically been a big source of dry fruit supply including dry figs, apricot, pine nuts, walnuts and raisin.
I remember when I was in grade 4 in late 40s, thousands of Uyghurs crossed into north-west Pakistan as refugees from XinJiang after their resistance failed against communists and some stayed in our town too. They used to have dry fruit stalls in front of our schools. They went back to Sinkiang in mid-50s went Mao announced general amnesty, so were gone the dry fruit stalls from in-front of our high school.

What a wonderful sight to behold.

The figs look beautiful. What is the taste like?

These figs are basically the same as the Tashkent yellow fig. The Uzbek people of Tashkent are close cousins of the Uyghur people in Artush, and I suspect the fig was shared by cuttings along the trade route.

These are very good figs. The inside is carmel colored and very figgy, but the skin is a bit thick. We used to by these in season for about 1$ a kilo in the markets. Our family could eat a kilo at a setting! Esp. when they are often peeled before you buy them in a Central Asian market.

What city in XJ did you visit? Most of the figs in that region are in the Kashgar prefecture, or as the Chinese call it "Kashi."
