Product Description

The Clone Machine is the premier automated mother and cloning cabinet that does all your cloning and/or seedlings in one turnkey SuperCloset.

Measuring 36"w x 24"d x 72"h, you can grow up to 128 clones at once off multiple mother plants. With our patented SuperCloners, (each powered by two cool white T5's) you will root your clones as soon as 5 days, and grow your seedlings extremely fast. Your Clone Machine also comes with an activated carbon filter to clean the air and plastic domes for perfect humidity control. Rather than just having one or two mother plants, you can have as many as you want, as there are more than enough plant sites to match and mix to your desire.

Your Clone Machine comes fully assembled, fully automated, and the high quality 16~18 gauge beautifully powder coated black cabinet fits in anywhere

Looks like an areoponics/bubbleponic setup. Very costly though. I have built systems for a fraction of the cost. I have even played with pllant tissue culture and mist table propagation. Areoponics and bubbleponics do work ver well with some plants. Unfortunatly I haven't been as lucky with figs using this method. I am currantly working on a system that incorperates the best trates frome areoponics and bubbleponics designed for fig multiplacation. It will still be awhile before I get the proto type up and running. I will post pics once I am finished.

I am using a $50 aquarium like bubbling system and it seems to be working well, combined with gro-lights, proper temperature and liquid hormone (dip'n grow).

If a person was going to go into growing fig trees on a commercial basis, then it might be worth looking into, but for those who grow figs as a hobby, it's just way too much money.

Hmmmmmm...it just so happens I need a clone...This might be my lucky day.  Do you suppose it will work on people?
Jim

Jim,

As long as you give the person a bath in DipnGrow, clones are guaranteed!!

The closet above only has 24 sq' of space.  Way more cost effective to use resin shelves.

15x7x7 ebay greenhouse               $130
6) 5 shelf 24x36 units                   $ 300
40) shop lights                             $ 400
80) T8 tubes                                $ 200
1K plastic bags                             $  25
4 Cu' Ag perlite                             $  35
120 Sq' lit + 60 sq' unlit space       $1090 - half the cost and 5x the lit space plus more than twice as much unlit space which is better for rooting figs.

Or just use 1 of the 5 modular units above for 24 sq' lit space + 12 sq' unlit space, eliminate the greenhouse and use a tarp   $ 260.  No bubblers needed, more space and  less than 1/7th the cost.

Sal,
IMO, KISS (Keep It Simple), for Fig cuttings.

Two (2) Seedling Plug tray (32 or 72 cell) with 7 inch high Humidity Dome... cost $22.00.
One (1) Bag Seed Starting potting mix...cost $4.00.
One (1) 4 Tier Plastic Shelf... cost $20.00.

Minimal investment for the home hobbyist ($46.00) for a maximum of 144 Fig clones (... 2 trays).

The only other items needed are some General Purpose Miracle Grow fertilizer (@ 1 teaspoon/1 gallon water), 3% Hydrogen Peroxide (for an anti-mold spray @1 part H2O2/3 parts water, 4 oz peroxide/12 oz water), a spray bottle and possibly (but not required) Liquid Rooting Hormone. Start in a dark closet or under a tarp, place in front of a window in a warm room (above 70 deg F.) after the cuttings have started to leaf out. The 4 tier shelf from Harbor Freight, Homedepot or Walmart that holds one 1020 seedling tray per shelf and can be covered in clear plastic sheeting or shower curtain to form a small freestanding greenhouse. Light fixtures can be suspended from bottom of shelves if needed.

And you could add a 6 by 8 Greenhouse from Harbor Freight for an additional $400.00 to grow out the clones.
If needed, Two (2) 2 foot T5 light fixtures from Homedepot...cost $50.00 ($25.00 each)

That cloning cabinet looks vaguely familiar..... :)
