Close your eyes Martin

Verdonne. This is an "10+", as good as anything I have eaten.

Wow, looks amazing Jon. Like strawberry candy inside!

Do you think it's the same as Adriatic?

incredible "jam like" interior appearance

Yowzer ! Great Pics Jon ! If not same as Adriatic , how does it compare?

jon, what climate will it tolerate?

Jon,

I am just chiming in resounding chorus with the rest.

Wow, that looks awesome!

It is supposedly a synonym for Adriatic. Adriatic had a yellow skin, at least at USDA/UC Davis. This one is definitely a pretty dark green. I never saw it coming. It was actually on the ground when I found it.

Adriatic is a nice fig, but this one blew it away. This is as good as White Greek Accession No. 2505. That is the only green fig I have eaten that would compete with this one.

Susie, apparently it likes it here. This is the first time it has fruited. We had an early, warm spring, and it has been 80ish days and 64ish nights pretty much for the last 10 weeks, with rare exception. I would guess, judging by other figs, that it is 4, maybe 6, weeks early this year, owing to the early spring

All I can say is amazing....

Not joining the bandwagon  - sowwy.

Nice, Jon.  Since your size ring isn't in the photo, can you give an estimate on the size and weight?

I was pretty clear, Martin. Guess people from the "dark side" don't follow instructions well. ;-))

Harvey, 1-3/4" or so. I never weigh them. I just take pix and EAT.

jon, if it's that good, no doubt you will, sooner or later, offer it for sale. i hope you do so with some fanfare so we don't miss out.

Ditto what Susie said !

i think the following is the link for jon's wanted list thing..

If Verdonne cuttings ever make it to ebay it's going to break the bank....

Very nice fig and picture.

That's a little harsh, Jon.  Since he lives in the dark he probably doesn't know if his eyes are open or not.   ;)

So you like this better than Col de Dame and Ronde de Bordeaux?

Time for Martin to defect to the other fig world. Or at least have a duel fig citizenship;)

What's the relationship between Verdonne and Verdick?
