Sas, could be FMV? Mine had it pretty bad, but now in the ground, it is less noticeable. Maybe the plant went through some stress when those leaves formed?
Tam, where are you located? I wonder what your hardiness zone is. The tree being against the house gave some protection, but I'm curious how much cold an established Col de Dame can take without being killed to the ground. It's such ashame to loose all those cuttings! Perhaps this plant is free of FMV, it looked very healthy. I'm also curious how well it produced being somewhat shaded?
