What is the going rate? I may be able to trade one of my col de dame noirs for one.

I can only tell I was successful two years in a row when purchasing a cuttings from Jon during his February scion sales.

It's THE fig to get, or one of them  :)  Other figs have gone for over $200 for a cutting just rooted but this one isn't even available anywhere I've seen  :)

Mgginva, send me a PM.  I have  Col de Dame Gris.  Ipurchased my tree from Jon last year.  My tree is growing nicely with plenty of figs on.  I can start an air layer for you but I can't do cuttings.

They are coming Martin.   I gotta find a easier way to drop them down to under 1m.  I got a solution, but it's gonna take bit ofeffort using my IPad.....but it will be faster.

Here's my CDD Gris. I just got this plant this spring and it is putting on nice growth. It actually looks better than my CDD Noir and Blanc even though they are at lest a year older. Thanks to a very generous and good guy fig grower on this forum for providing this one to me.    

Barry yours came from a European line fmv not as present as some of the coll de dama figs floating around

Thanks Charles, it is growing very well. There is some evidence of fmv but not nearly what is found on other CDDGris in this country, that's what Dan was saying. 

Did any one get ripe fruits yet

Yes I had fruits and they are second to none for taste, and flavor,as grown in my Back yard.
It is a late ripening cultivar ,especially when young,but I know it will become earlier as an adult tree,when it stops growing up.
So far I planted three trees for myself,and you know I do not keep bad cultivars ,more than 4 years to get a good idea,about them.
I am going to take some cuttings but not a lot of them,as to chop the tree down as i need to get it to adult stage as it is only 4 years old.
This one is a cultivar like Maltese Falcon,in that is a little more sensitive to adverse conditions especially when young so yes if you need a care free tree it is not for you,but if you want to take good care of it then the rewards will be great.
If you live in a ideal climate,warm and mild ,then it can grow care free.

What kind of adverse conditions, sevre cold, over water, rain, extreme heat?  I am interested as I should have one for next year and I would like to not kill it.

Lack of full sun,in your climate will get you nowhere with this cultivar,you must have full sun,all day.!

I am assuming it's a good candidate for forcing then?  I don't have a big hoophouse, 14 x 12' so I was going to let some of the later ripening varieties sit in the greenhouse from April or so with a floating row cover during the night on cold nights and days, if any freezes are expect just bring them back inside for the time was my thought to getting a good crop of figs on these types, has anyone had luck doing this?

Totally agree. CddG loves the heat and a sunny location, same is true with the Noire.
