Col de dame varieties

How many col de dame varieties out there? So far I know CDD Blanc, CDD Grise, CDD Noir/Negra, CDD rimalda

These are from Pons

Coll De Dama Bordissotenca
Coll De Dama De Ciutat
Coll De Dama Gigantina
Coll De Dama Roja
Coll De Dama Blanca-Negra

Wow.... I never tought that coll de dama have so much varieties like this. Can you show me the picture of the list and where can I get them?

+ Panachee == CDD rimalda

Here is the list for your reference.

COLL DE DAMA BLANCA
COLL DE DAMA BLANCA-NEGRA
COLL DE DAMA BORDISSOTENCA
 COLL DE DAMA DE CIUTAT
COLL DE DAMA GIGANTINA
COLL DE DAMA NEGRA
COLL DE DAMA RIMADA
COLL DE DAMA ROJA
Coll de dama pintada
Coll de dama tardana

I don't think that panachee == cdd rimada

What MP said to me about panachee is

"panachée is synonymous BORDISSOT WHITE RIMADA"

That is correct, Panachee and CdD Rimada are not the same, though they are similar and are both unifera figs. Panachee wood can be striped, that is unique.

As cuttings yes.

Is there a lot of difference in the way the different CdDs taste compared to each other? I've read they're very similar. The first fig off my CdDN was great: large, sweet, berry tasting, but so were several other figs from other fig tree varieties.

It is hard to judge when the trees are still babies (about three years old). So far here's my impression:
As far as taste is concerned, if I closed my eyes, I would have a tough time identifying which is which.
As to which version I would keep if I had to chose only one,  the UCD CDD Blanc has been the most productive.

SAS, is there any different between UCD CDD Blanc with CDD Blanc MP collection?

All CdD (lady's neck) fig fruits are pretty nice and good tasting  ... but, but ...
they are very late season ripening ... know your (heat) zone.

What is so special about skin color?

Isn't BLANCA-NEGRA 15 days earlier? What i have heard, so sounds like one for me to try.
Besides being very cool producing two different colored figs, that is awesome!

At this time, I could not tell you anything about the MP figs.
When it comes to the UCD strain vs French Baud, early observations tell me that the Baud Strain takes longer to fruit and is displaying different growth habits than the UCD strain. It might be the result of local conditions or the early age of the trees. There's a great probability that as the trees get older, those minor differences would disappear.
In the end their fruit should look and taste very similar.

P.S. If you cannot find any Col de Dame locally, when it comes to flavor, a panache might be great alternative.

My CDD still small SAS. Got the cutting last 2 month. Have to wait before I can taste it. In here, its hard to find fresh fig. That's why I planted it myself. At least I know where I can get when I want them

Regarding the ripening date of the Col de Dames, last season I had Col de Dame Blanc (UCD), Col de Dame Noir and Col de Dame Blanca-Negra growing in containers under pretty much identical conditions.  The CdDB was in it's 3rd season while the other two were in their 2nd seasons.  The CdDB-N first started ripening on Aug. 20 while the CdDB and CdDN started on Sept. 10.  So yes, it is an earlier fig.  While the CdDB and CdDN are clearly related to each other it seems that the CdDB-N (though still apparently related) is a bit different than these two.  CdDB-N was much faster growing, its pulp not quite as deep red, its fig shape more variable, with somewhat different flavor, and earlier ripening as stated above.  Keep in mind this is just an observation from my three young plants after one season of fruit and I might have a somewhat different opinion next year.

I notice that the consistency of the pulp is the same on all my basic CDD, meaning blanc, Grise and Noir. The Rimada pulp was also similar. I have not yet tasted fruits from my Blanca-Negra so no comment. It does seem that B-N is a but different based on the comments I am seeing on the different forums.

Alan I don't think 14 exists you have it confused w No. 9.

Whatever kind you have ,like Georg said, know your zone and if ,in hot climate plant it in ground if in cold climate, grow it in pot and ,place in full sun,in the Spring.
That is in order to get ripe fruits.
The climate change did a number on north east climate, and so the last three years my Col de dame trees ,in ground did not ripe fruits properly.
Climate here now is very cold Winters, coupled with rainy cool Summers, something ,that is not good enough to ripe Col de Dame ,in ground.
I am sure it will ripe,in pot,in full sun tho!.

Peter Honey and Kadota, depending on what you got as Peter Honey, they also needs hot long Summers, and in fact i also had problem with them getting ripe ,in ground here in the last 3 years.
So I would say it is as late as Kadota and it needs hot climate just like Kadota.
Now some people have Peter Honey that is distinct from Kadota and earlier to ripe,so if that is the case then Col de Dame would be later to ripe compared to Peter Honey.

Alan Rimada means striped, there is no such word as Rimalda in the spanish language, and no such fig.
