Never fails to produce tasty figs year after year

Looks great Nelson! I've only heard good things about that one.

Tyler

Looks like mine, didnt develop a full colour this year and were about 2 weeks later than last year, still tasty, more skin cracking this year too and they are making fantastic jam.  The ant's favorite and birds favorite this year.

Hi Nelson,

You have great figs there !
I assume that they are all from potted plants and this is remarkable in your climate.

Francisco

Tyler it's a dependable variety and tasty does real well in southern Ontario.

Hi James I too have been fighting with ants and wasps on this tree they have been driving me nuts..

Francisco these were picked from my potted tree but I do grow this variety inground. It's atleast 3-4 weeks behind this year.

Strange that they ripen for me before you Nelson, mine have given me around 60 so far in ground and it only gets 2/3 of day worth of sun, so surprising to me that they look just like they could be from my backyard.  I have you give you credit for convincing me to plant mine in ground good decision for me.  You may not have suggested it but I thought if you can plant yours in ground there, for sure I can.

James I unwrapped the tree later this year and it didn't help me at all. Plant broke dormancy 3rd week of may last year I had brebas forming early April. My inground blk Marseilles is starting to ripen now as well wich usually starts ripening late aug to early sept.

Next season I will unwrap them mid march like I have in the past.

Most o my figs in general are atleast 2-3 weeks behind this season

Does anyone in the USA have cuttings or a small plant from this one?

Very nice, thanks for sharing.

Ripening here for over 10 days. Strange that the potted one outdoor ripens earlier than the one in the greenhouse.

Paul, how do you like this fig?

This is definitely a KEEPER. My wife commented this morning what a good tasting fig. With rain over 40mm per
day for the last 2 days, it held its taste and did not split. Better than Sal's, Malta Blk, Beall,Takoma Violet. I am
thinking of getting rid of my Sal's & the named variants & focus on the awesome ones.

Thanks for sharing this excellent fig. Its great that many awesome tasting figs are discovered in Ontario.

Hey Paul I'm glad you like them. This fig has earned it's place in my collection it's my work horse every year it's very dependable and great tasting

Nelson - if you have some extra cuttings this fall I,D take them off your hands, I really should add this one to my collection. My colasanti yellow was my first plant and it really grows well, but I can't say I like it the fruit. It is really affected by rain when ripening. And of course we always get rain in the fall, so I should find those that aren't as affected.

Thanks. John

John, the yellow did the same for me and the large open eye would invite mold.  If Nelson doesn't have cutting send me a PM and I will get some to you.

Hi John, I will check to see if my dad has a spare plant if he Dosent then ill get you cuttings

Thanks guys, I have such minimal space that I really need to optimize.
