I took this tree inside last fall to ripen some figs up and then after that it started new growth, then it started a main crop on that new growth which is ripening up now. 

I wonder what it will do this summer.

 
 
 

That fig must be dizzy...lol  No chance for it to go dormant and restore its energy?

I always thought figs needed a dormant period but people in tropical areas are growing figs year around. 

I would think when you move the fig outside it will probably lose its (indoor) leaves and take opportunity to sleep a little while before it starts growing again.

Great looking tree and fruit.Its awesome that they stayed green and produced fruit in the middle of winter! You probably kept the house temp pretty high(70sF) and kept it (the plant) in a very sunny location!i hope it stays strong and productive for the rest of the season. Honestly ,I think that they follow the weather patterns and go to sleep only to protect themselves from the cold and not to restore energy. When the weather gets warm they sense the difference in temp and com alive again. I ve seen my inground figs break bud as early as med February in an unusually warm winter( 12-13) but stay dormant until late April in an unusually cold one (13-14)! In tropical climates they do not feel the need to go under to protect the young shoots from cold since the weather stay in the 70s and higher year round so they follow an evergreen patern. Uhh,the magical and mysterious world of figs.

No time to put it to sleep in my cold storage, my other figs in there are starting to wake up.

This fig was in a south facing window all winter and when the sun shines the room gets up to 24*C

I didn't get any breba's between the main crops though. We'll see what it wants to do this summer.
