The owner want to build a garage, so this 12 ft tall fig tree has to go. I went there today to take down the tree. So I have lots of branches, which is more than what I can handle. I would like to offer 10 cuttings for $6.00 package & shipping. Each additional 10 cuttings is $5.00. At this moment, there is no limit of request. PM me for paypal id.

The tree was in Bronx, NY for decades without protection. So it's cold hardy to zone 6. The figs is large Green/white exterior, and white/amber flesh. Fig is very sweet, has tight opening. I can't ID this one. I don't know if I should call it Bronx White (unknown) or Anna White (unknown) or something else?

How long did it take you to get that out of the ground? I was fighting with maple tree saplings growing in my hedges today and that was terrible.....

About 1 hr to 1.5 hr for the whole thing. Here is the Steps:
1. Cut the branch to 7 ft tall. 
2. Use shovel to dig out a trench around the root.
3. Rock and loose the root ball.
4. Tillt the tree 45 degree, then use garden hose to clean up the dirt.
5. rotate the root ball to wash away all dirt.
6. use rope to tie the tree and use my car to pull it out of the hole.
7. tilt the branch to the tail gate, and padded with a carpet.
8. two men lift the root ball and slide the entire tree into the truck with carpet.

Using a car sounds like cheating, lol.

Ha ha. not cheating, because between the tree and car, there is 1.5 ft deep & 2 ft wide trench. If not because of the trench, I can backup my car, and load it right on to my car.

That looks  like hard work but fun ... can't wait to see it planted and leafing out .

Good work Jimmy.  Digging a tree that big out by the roots is a huge chore, even with a car to pull, there is a lot of digging and cutting roots.  Thanks for sharing,  great pics.

A Calimyrna wouldn't produce fruit in the Bronx.  It needs the fig wasp and the fig wasp can't handle the cold and it's not smart enough to fly south for the winter.

one way to insert photos is to host them on the web and copy the url.  it should end in .jpg or another photo format.  Then in your message, click on the 7th icon from the left.  The row starts with a scissors icon.  A window will pop up.  Paste your url there, hit enter and the photo should appear.

I have to admit it's been a mess to offer cuttings for postage. I offer 10 as a pack because they are strong as a bundle, I can just wrap them and ship. So, someone wants just a couple of cuttings, I have to cut a card board to reinforce the package, and it does not really save postage and shipping material.
When someone wants extra long and thick branch, I have to use long box.
I have spend whole day answering email, and prepare packages, then a lot of payment has no shipping address. I have to send message to ask for it.
When printing shipping label, some address is reject because it does not comply with USPS address format.
If you send me payment and does not receive the package, remind me. I may missed the message.

At the end, it's a mess and very hard to keep track what I have shipped. No wonder ebay can charge a lot and still in business.
Every order has a record, and once shipped, it will be marked as shipped. And it's easy to tracking, just go to unshipped item to process the next one. Each order must have been paid and with confirmed address.
So I also put this on ebay, if you have ebay account and want to do me a favor, my ebay id is jillji, the cost is a little bit extra to cover ebay fees. But I believe it's really worth the cost.

Look at it this was Jimmy, you're being a nice guy! I have seen a lot of people on here I believe Grasa being the last I remember, offer cuttings for postage. It is a wonderful thing to do and it is appreciated.

SEGeo, The cutting is anywhere 5-9 inches long, but at least 3 nodes each. Will try to shape the branch so it's easier to fit into a package.

Thank you Bob for showing me how to insert photos. I am new to growing fig trees. I known Calimyrna needs fig wasps in order to ripe. The photo Jimmy posted is look like the Calimyrna fig.
Google Calimyrna fig, you will see the similarity.

Here's some calimyrna leaves from Wayne's Word's web site.  The photo url is 'http://waynesword.palomar.edu/images/figwa6b.gif   .gif is a photo file format, like .jpg.  When I put it in the image box you can see the photo.
