Coll de Dama Blanca&Negra, a peculiar variety

I think this is the same tree that is in this video at the very beginning and again at the end... Interesting to see it full of leafs as all the other fig trees looked still dormant...

cdd bordissotenca and cdd de ciutat are NOT of Coll de Dama familiy.
cdd gigantina and cdd roja yes, they are.

Take into account that cdd de Ciutat is extremely late, 4 weeks later than Coll de Dama Blanca and 6 than Coll de Dama Blanca-Negra!!

thanks axier. do all the cdd have dark red centres

I think so, you are right, good anecdotic remark! :-)
I will verify with Monserrat this point.

Am I right to assume that CDD Gris and CDD Roja are the same, sorry if I'm off topic but to me they look the same.

I think so.

Nzfig, I asked Monserrat yesterday about this video, the tree in the video is an Albacor fig, it is not Coll de Dama Blanca Negra but you were not misdirected. Cdd Blanca Negra was near, although it doesn't appear in the video.

Look at this other video, it is interesting, you can see a few seconds of three excellent varieties: Coll de Dama Blanca Negra, Calderona and De la Reina. The trees showed are young ones, not mother trees.

The man speaking is Monserrat Pons.
Note the nice blue sky, that is the every summer day sky in Mallorca, because of this they have so excellent figs.

I show below the time table of the respective varieties in the video:

0:24 to 0:37 Coll de Dama Blanca Negra
0:38 to 0:55 Calderona
0:56 to 1:22 De la Reina

a fantastic video, many thanks axier for bringing to our attention

Thanks for the video Jon

That is an excellent video.

Thank you kindly for your reply Axier and for posting this video, that festival looks like fun...

I wrote CDDN is on my wish list but then i get confuse Coll de Dama Negra or Coll De dama Noir? Anyone can help the diff?

Axier. Would you please tell me what the reason the fig trees in the video are planted so far apart? What is the advantage of them being so far apart?

They are the same.  The first is the Spanish name for it and the second is the French name.

Nice video! Thanks!  I wish we had a translation. Is this taken in Mallorca?
