Coming Your Way Perhaps ?

Rafed my friend you are so lucky, but I must say keep your luck and the snow. LOL
"gene"

Two options:  toss some snow in a box with dry ice and overnight it to Jon, or go to California, drive up to Big Bear, grab some snow in an ice chest, and dump it on his doorstep ;)

Rafed, I k now you have a nice rig, but even your captain's chair doesn't qualify as a "sofa", and a truck stop in Tennessee is definitely not a "front yard".

Is this global warming or is it the frozen tundra.Northern Ohio had a two day blizzard.
Stay safe
Phil from Northern Ohio

Ah, San Diego! 40 min to the snow, 20 to the beach! What a life. ;-)

I was outside until 2am watching the meteor shower last night...it was an awesome site! It did get a bit chilly requiring a sweatshirt after midnight.

They were right, it was the best show of the year...total lunar eclipse coming Dec 20 around 12:30 am...last one until 2014 for most of us in the US.

Sue

Highway 402 was closed from Sarnia, On. to London, On.. Over 300 people were stranded over night in the road way.

401 was closed past Chatham so we got out took the back roads ( HWY 2 ) and it was a complete Whiteout!
Took me 5 hrs to get from Windsor, On. to London. Usaully it takes less than 2 hrs, Sometimes 2.5 hrs.
Cars, trucks and even the salt shakers were in the ditches.

By the time we got to London it was hammer down till we got to Toronto and it was a real big mess all over again.

I had text Nelson yesterday and asked how thing were but he responded 24 hrs later.
Too late Nelson. LOL LOL

I'm here in Napanee for the night but not looking foreword to going through Montreal in the morning. I hear they're getting slammed too.

I already pushed my delivery to Thursday and if I have to push it another day then so be it. Better late than never.

Yes Jon,
This is our Paradise, Want to come and join us?

Sue,
Your just sitting on top of the World. Would've loved to have been there to witness it.

Sheesh.
The system i originally talked about caused the metrodome roof to collaspe in a spot dropping snow onto the field the roof could not handle 17 inches , the Chicago Bears most likely will play at a college stadium cause of this next week.

Parts of Indiana got socked real good with lake effect snow that lasted several long days and measured in feet.

Wisconsin got hammered as well they closed I-94 for a period of time. Some area's had to rescue some folks stranded in there cars for 10 hours!
Meanwhile that system has moved eastward affecting Ohio, Penn, New York and last i heard temps in Miami were at 39 and olrlando Florida 36 while they also stated in the Atlanta region cold air and possible snow flurries.

Kinda reminds me of the good ole fashion winters back in the 60s into the 70s.

I guess many of us are now paying for a good warm or hot fig season we had,
ironcially Jon in California - (saying this in my head doing my best Arnold impression) who had a lousy weather related fig season coldest perhaps on record is enjoying very nice weather.
Go Figure!

Temps this morning when i woke up and looked were at 2F above zero  and will drop to 0 or a few minus zero tonite. No big deal here its not unusual and reminds me of January temps which can be colder.
Meantime temps in garage hit 19 and figs are fast asleep probably snoring like my wife !!!

Rafed.
Here is more detail about the situation south-western Ontario as you mentioned in your post. Some transport trucks were pulled up from ditches too. Even emergency crews could not easily get to the stranded motorists. Scary!

12 degrees here last night--I have a garage full of potted figs and Christmas lights wrapped around the trunks of some in ground figs.

Martin,
Coincidentally, I woke up yesterday moring to a temp of 2F as well. We set a 20 year record last year at just 1F. So, we may even break that record if this keeps up. I hope we're not seeing a trend here!

Phil,
I'm a Buckeye as well having been born in Akron. How much snow did you guys get up there? I know how that lake effect can be. I rember getting something like 34" overnight one time back in the 70's. As kids, we had a blast. No school AND we get to play in the snow, couldn't have been better! I recall building an igloo and snow furniture all over the yard.

Hey Jon,  What were your snow days like as a kid?
