I found fresh figs at my market... So I bought it but it wasn't that good at all.
I think it was brown turkey.
Which varieties are good for commercial growing ?
Are there any commercial fig orchards with better tasting varieties ? :)
Any ideas ?

Black Mission is a commercial fig that tastes amazing!  It does not need the wasp!

Same problem I run into. Fig season is over, and fresh figs are hard to find in the market. Ones I find are just not very good.

Newer commercial varieties in USA are Sequioa and Sierra.

Calabacita is a major one in Spain for drying, there is also Col de Dame (white for drying, black for fresh and jam) and Colar for early crop of figs since it produces nice breba fruits.

This is just from what I have read and I have not seen them personally.
