Pictures from our most common fig variery.
It grows everywhere around here, it is an early and tasty fig. 2014-08-20-14471.jpg

Nice picture.  Does it have any specific name, or is it just referred to as "common fig"?

Nice figs with rather attractive colors!
Do you dry these figs ? (or dehydrate?)

Francisco

These figs look appetizing. Do they grow normally in our zone 6? :o

Nice looking figs Pen, congrats, they look tasty.

Very nice.

Most people call this fig common because nobody knows it's name. Or it is "Common fig"  don't know? So I call it "Common Bulgarian"
This is a very cold hardy fig It can survive temp of -20 C*
Hello Francisco I never tried drying any fig, but this figs is a good candidate and I should try it. ( I have not forgoten about the Bursa fig, but I still don't have it. :(    )

Thanks for sharing, is that -20 unprotected?  I am curious how many of my figs in a few years will be able to take that abuse.  Do you get strong winds in the winter as well?

very nice, thanks for sharing. Envious of a figs that takes those temperatures!

The trees are unprotected but no strong winds around here..  Temp. drops are only during the night for a week or two in January.

This fig reminds me of the [locally USA available] hardy Florea fig (org: Romania).

No wonder ,gorgi :) Michurinska 10 ....another name of this fig....

I'm not sure if this is the same as Michurinska 10. Actualy there are many trees with almost the same fruits but with slight variation. For exsample: the fruit and taste are the same, but they spoil much easier. Some are with a little larger eye and are attacked by bugs, and some look the same but taste is litle different. Ofcourse all these diffrences might be due to soil, water or other factors.

Hello Pen,
Sorry did not see your previous comment.
This fig made me remember a rather good local variety not much different, but now extinct.
I know you did not forget that 'elusive' black one!

Francisco

Pen check out this link on the michuriska 10. theres quite a few photos of fruits and leaves is this the same as florea???? Sure looks like it to me.
