Conadria

This tree was purchased 1 year ago from Almost Eden. It's been a real grower and It won't be long before I get to taste one. It will be the second one on the tree because something stole the first. The one on the left needs about 2 more days. I included a quarter to show the very large size of the fig.

Thanks for posting Gene it looks great. Looking forward to seeing ripe pic and what you think of taste

Here is one I picked today, even though the skin just started to crack I could have left on for 2 more days IMHO. I have 2 more at about the same stage that I'm going to let sit for a few days. The pulp is starting to show a more red color than earlier in season also

Weight 65 grams
Nice full bodied flavor with a good seed crunch has not disappointed yet, skin is soft and thin. 2nd season fig

Today I picked the 2 figs in the first picture in the thread. The first one I got no pictures of but I did share it with fellow enthusiasts Dan Abadie and Jeff LeCompte. The second one I took pictures of and shared with my wife. I found the fig good and figgy and not overly sweet. It also had a lot of crunch but the crunch added no flavor. It was not as juicy as I like but I maybe could have stayed on the tree a day longer. It rained hard this afternoon, so rather than risk a soggy fig I picked it perhaps a little early.  This tree is 1 1/2 years old, it's first bearing year.

Gene,

That's a good sized fig.

What is it you have on the ground around your fig trees?

Vivian

Vivian all I have is dead grass. I sprayed roundup on it to keep the grass from growing inside the bird netting where it would be hard to cut. By the way, that is a hugh fig from where I come from.

Gene thanks for posting pic, same fig and source. I'm still wondering if it will show same dark red pulp later in season as it did last year. Big difference in color on same tree

Sal, yours look much more delicious than mine. I will let the next one ripen more.

Thanks, Gene.  It looked like dead grass at first, but then I wondered if it was a roll of that artificial stuff that I've seen at HD & Lowe's.  LOL!  I didn't want to ask, "What is that stuff that looks like dead grass?"

Yes, since the fig takes up most of your whole hand, I guess it is a huge fig!
