I'm not sure why but my conadria is just starting to get it's main crop.  Originally I only noticed about  4 large figs.  I'm new at this so I must not have noticed they must be breba.  But now it is getting a ton of little figs that have appeared this last week.  I know I'm not going to like the answer - but any way they can ripen in Pittsburgh???  I was hoping to move it to the greenhouse shortly and get it some more heat.  I'd assume that hey'd probably need 70 more days minimum to ripen.  That puts me into November!  Would I just be wasting my time or would it be possible to supply enough heat to get them to ripen in the greenhouse?  If I did that would it hurt it with getting ready to go dormant?  Thanks

Is your plant quite young, like a year or less?  If so, it is normal for young trees to be out of synch with the seasons and start putting on main crop figs too late to become ripe before cold weather sets in.  You could use the greenhouse to extend the season but would the cost of heating the greenhouse be worth it for a few figs off a young plant?  Generally, it is good to allow young plants to put on growth and develop their root system and not put energy into producing figs.  For a first year plant I typically pull off all but one fig and then only leave one on if there is a chance it will ripen.

To be honest I'm not exactly sure how old it is - I didn't ask. I got it from a forum member this spring. But it seems way too big. Attached is a photo. You are probably right about heating the greenhouse. But there are a ton of little figs starting - so I'm tempted! Since the greenhouse is new too I have no idea what it would cost to heat. Thanks
