Confused cutting

I have a cutting that is putting roots out every where from top to bottem. i know i have it planted the right way but am seeing no sign of shoot growth just roots everywhere. if my dog didnt chew on the phone and ruin my camera i would take a pic. but at this point i cant, but its somthing to be seen. any advice.

You can have some fun training those roots down to the soil and achieve a bonsai aesthetic. To keep them alive carefully pile potting mix or perlite up the cutting and water with a sprayer so it stays there and by the time it is ready for potting up the roots will be hardened and can be exposed. I did that last season with one that rooted at the very top and very bottom only so I thought it was important to not lose the ones at the top.

Dave, I recently received a Maltese Falcon cutting that did the same. I planted it leaving the top and one node exposed. I put it in a cup and put a cup over it to retain moisture. It sat there and grew roots until it filled the bottom cup but no sign of green. After about 4 to 5 weeks it finally put out 2 small shoots which are now growing. The exposed roots pruned them self as I starting removing the top cup daily until I could leave it off completely. I've had others do that and never send out a shoot.
