Confused: What NPK-Ratio for fertilizing figs?

Hi,

the more i read, the more i am confused.

What is the best NPK- Ratio? I read a lot of 3:1:2 , Baud in France recommend 1:2:3, some say 1:1:1, other say it doesn´t matter.

My question is, what to do? Here i have an liquid organic citrus fertilizer which says it is for figs too 3%, 2% , 4,5 % (NPK), is it really suitable for figs to?

Any help appreciated!

Thank you!

Is this for pots or for in ground figs?

Do a soil test to determine what is lacking. They are cheap and it cuts out any guessing. Your county ag agent can help with this.

For potted figs.

Hi,
What ever works for you, is what you should use.
I for instance don't like liquid fertilizers because the whole quantity is available on the get go.
This means I probably should be applying less but more frequently ... And I use to be busy with more things to do (LOL).
So I'd rather use bullets (fertilizer in blue bullets) that will melt more slowly and release the fertilizer for a longer time-frame .
It works for me .
I use 10/10/10 - it works for me. If you want to use 20/20/20 - use half of the quantity as the numbers are a concentration. So 20 means twice 10 .
I had read somewhere that in N P K , N is for growth , and both P and K are considered as required for good fruits and good roots.

One thing is sure: don't forget to water your trees, for they need water and fertilizer to prosper well.

Lots of guys on here use Osmocote Plus, which is a 15-9-12 slow release formula in pellet form.  I like it because it doesn't burn and really only one application per season is needed.

Another great one is foliage pro 936
