Great News.
Nelson and his wife are finally proud parents of little baby Jasmine Marie Esteves born this morning, March 24. No, Nelson did not faint while observing the birth with the joy of a proud father.
Wishing the little baby Jasmine, the parents and the extended family a life full of happiness. 

What a blessing!  Congratulations.

Thank you guys, I must say it was definately the best experience I have had in my life a real blessing to hold your own child. 30hrs without sleep so far and have another 4 hours left of work and back to the hospital to see my little baby.

I can remember the first time I held my daughter 20 years ago.  It really is an amazing feeling.  I talked to her today on my drive home.  It has been a rewarding, exciting and interesting journey every step of the way.  I hope you enjoy the ride as much as I have with both of my children.

Thank you all so much It really means allot to me, this journey has been an emotional one for us and as I said before the best Experience I have ever felt. Long story short June 2009 I bought my first fig tree since I read it ment fertility in some cultures as my fiance had a miscarriage one year earlier I thought ah what the heck maybe it will be good luck, 4 weeks later we find out she is 4 weeks pregnant Coinsidence? Possibly but gave me a good reason to get more and more figs just in case lol. I just came back from the Hospital they are both doing great and should be home by tomorow afternoon hopefully.

Thank you all for all the kind words they are greatly appreciated, I guess a new chapter of my life has started and seems it will only get better from here.

Maybe it is the figs!  After over a year of trying, we got pregnant when my first few scion for this season went into cups ;)

Congratulations Nelson, its the best thing in the world.  I had my first child a baby girl, in August of 09 and it will never be the same.
I recently red in Mens Health that in their top 100 of Male "Super Foods" (or something like that), they placed Figs 26th on the list.  Figs are full of antioxidants and other good stuff and I have always thought they kept you young vigorous.

Ciao Nelson, I am so happy for you and your wife, congratulations, I had my son Alessandro just last year, he will be 1 in July.  Its ashame they aren't closer to each other, they could get to know one another! You and I could arrange a marriage, :))  thats a long way off, but remember how close girls are with their daddy's, I  miss mine everyday, I was his gem as I know Jasmine will be for you.  Keep growing their figs, there's something in them yes. Very happy for you.  Now like my father said when I was born, He need something bigger to keep the boys away!  Ciao Ciao

I agree, there is no other experience in life that compares to holding your precious little girl for the first time. It's been about 7 years for me but life has never been the same since (in a good way).

As all parents can attest to, now the real life has begun for you. Everything before that was just the warm up ;-)) .

Random thought: I wonder if they make fig baby food :-) ?
