Herman,

In reading the description of Beall, it sounds a lot like your "Brown Turkey" that you got from Home Depot a few years back.

See "HD" Accession http://figs4fun.com/Thumbnail_Brown_Turkey.html

Hi Jon:Yes it does sound, but is not.
I have a minuscle one from UC Davis, that refuses to grow (you know Why),but I had a couple of fruits last Sommer, and I liked them much better than HD Brn Turkey.
Of course in your climate,Home Depot fruits could be much better tasting than here, but also Beal could be better,so I know Beal is Superior. And the fruits are a beautifull light purple like no other fig i know. How easy is to grow it?.Much harder than HD brown Turkey. In fact one have to be a wizard to make it fruit, but also Black Madeira is like that, and people still grow it,because the su8ccess is very very sweet and flavorfull.
Here is a picture of my couple of fruits.

Herman,  I know why also, I have 4 UCD cuttings that have managed to hang on (3 Kadota's and 1 Blk. Ischia that have not grown hardly at all!

I don't think I want anymore UCD cuttings!

My other cuttings are growing like weeds........go figure!
