The Corky's Honey Delight was the first to put on figs this year and last to ripen. After birds and vermin claiming most of them, I tried a nylon stocking over one of the figs that was big and nearly ripe. The very next day, something had ate it over night, It somehow squeezed the pulp of the fruit through the nylon sock and the sock was still hanging there intact with no fig left in it. I finally protected another ripening fig by enclosing it in a styrofoam cup and foil over that. That worked.
I tasted it today and it was glorious. Intense honey taste with some complexity. It was medium large, yellow/green when ripe and light pink on inside. This tree is supposed to ripen well in cool summers as mama tree lives close to the ocean. Taste is as good, if not better than Panache. Sorry no camera right now for pix.
Will have some cuttings in winter.
