Here is a link on National Geographic of the rarest of Gorilla subspecies eating what the narrator calls "figs" in Camaroon. He says the Gorillas are 30 to 40 feet up in the tree. Does anyone know what type of fig this would be?http://video.nationalgeographic.com/video/news/cross-river-gorillas-vin?source=relatedvideo
Most probably 'Ficus Sycomorus'http://www.figweb.org/Ficus/Subgenus_Sycomorus/Section_Sycomorus/Subsection_Sycomorus/Ficus_sycomorus_sycomorus.htmVery well documented here...
Francisco. Thank you. What a wonderful documentary. I would encourage anyone and everyone to watch both video's. It seems that the planet is connected by figs.
There's a place in India where they train the roots of certain fig trees to make living bridges over 100 feet long.
Remarkable! I would love to see that.
Charlie. Amazing, Thank you!
FYIThere is a fig tree in Pretoria, South Africa, that is over 1000 years old. It is a Ficus salicifolia. It is the called the Wonderboom. (Miracle tree)
Great vids, im still amazed by mother nature.
