crumbled leaves

Some of the first leaves to emerge this year on my trees are crumbled up on one side or deformed  and seam to be dry, but the newest ones seam to be ok.  is this normal? Any idea why?

deformed (leaves) : possibly FMV.
dry: (sorry)  I have NO clue....

Were the trees inside or outside, in direct sunlight or filtered/shaded sunlight?  Was the crumbly part brown or green?

If outside in full sun, it could be sunburn.  If inside in filtered sun, it could be spider mites.  Spider mite damage indoors, once moved outside, will often result in leaf tear, drying out and severe browning that - at least to me - looks similar to rust.

I hate spyder mites, and I agree with what Jason said completely. It does indeed look like rust when you take spyder mite damaged plants outdoors. Spyder mites wiil hide inside the bud tips even though you cant see them they are already doing their dirty work on the new leaf before it even comes out.
If your plants are outdoors then sun will also do that I noticed that on my Seedling wich has no FMV and on a few others usually on the middle lobe it would curl and eventually part of the middle lobe would start to dry up.
