Cut and Paste in PM and Email

Why can't I paste a link into a PM or Email, seems like I have heard that it may be that Mozilla is my browser, any ideas????

You simply need to highlight the subject to which the link belongs, and look up at the top, and the chain thingy will get active.  Click on that, and a window will come up, and then you can paste your link in there.

I don't think I read correctly.  An email is easy!  paste.  Not sure about a PM, but if that little chain appears above, like you see now, you can do it.  First you need to highlight the subject of the link.

I'm sorry but I no habla thingy, especially chain thingy, not into whips and chains, LOL, I highlight my text and copy it then I try to paste it into the body of the PM, it does not work.  It will paste into the subject line but not into the body of the PM.

BTW great find on the golf course.

Well, when you respond to anything, there is a menu above.  Starts with Font family, Font size, A B Italics, Underline.. all the other options.  Second row is where you find the chain link thingy.  6th from the left.

It won't light up for you unless you highlight what it is you want it to link to.

Try using the keyboard shortcuts.

ctrl + c = copy
ctrl + x = cut
ctrl + v = paste

This is how I normally use a computer. A mouse can cause a lot of trouble using some systems and the fail safe is the old dos commands.

He might be on a dreaded Mac!  Nothing works on that!

NO MAC!!

Chris - tried that, its a browser thingy, I thinky, LOL

Suzi,

I'm on a MacBook Pro :)~
Also runin wintell on a partition...

Danny, I use and prefer FireFox, and I can not cut copy paste anything into a message on this forum.  If I have to, I'll switch to MS explorer

If you go to "ADVANCED" you get an advisory telling you why...Its a FireFox thing.

Sometimes it depends which version of Firefox you are using.  When I need to upload an attachment I have to use Internet Explorer.  I started using the newest Firefox version and found that my Roboform wasn't compatible with it, and I use that a lot, so back to the older version I went, and I use Internet Explorer when I upload photos.

Cut and paste works fine for me on Firefox but I'm not sure how to find out what version I'm using.  It's an older one for sure :-)
