Thanks for all who bought! Packages are done.
HI Everyone,
I started getting into figs in 2012 and have yet to offer any cuttings since I was not able to get fruit for most until this year. But I’d like to offer the first 5 people the following cutting package for $44 each plus $6 for shipping.
All cuttings will have 3 nodes, the top will either be the slant cut side or marked with an arrow. None of the cuttings have been washed or bleached yet. After you get the cuttings, I suggest you wash (soap and warm water with a brush), dip them in a 10% bleach solution for 30 seconds, and dry them without rinsing the bleach solution off. Label each cutting and if you don’t plan on starting your cuttings, store them via wax cut ends, plastic wrap, vacuum seal bags, or however you choose in the frig. I’d recommend that you air them out monthly and check them for mold, if you see mold re-wash them and bleach them again before putting them back into storage.
Okay now to the cuttings included in each package, there will be 14 varieties, 2 cuttings of each variety:
Negronne EL, this was one of best this year. I wasn’t convinced this was a good fig, but this year it proved me wrong.
U. Carini- Got this one from Figgy Frank
Panachee-this one gave me 3 figs and all three dropped before getting ripe, I’m assuming it’s age related.
Hardy Chicago-What can I say, it’s common but a favorite.
Marseille – EL, I’m not impressed by this fig, but than again I’m not overly impressed by sugar figs in general.
LSU Purple– this one has not ripened any fruit for me yet.
Atreano OR – This one was sold to me as Atreano OR, meaning it’s not the RR version. My husband didn’t like it as well since it can be soft and almost liquidy when really ripe. Definitely a consistency issue for him.
Dark Portuguese – Bass strain, this was a work horse this year, with over 100+ figs and it was a great Mt. Etna type.
Battaglia Green – this is the original Battaglia Green, it has given me Brebas and a few main fruit this year, but really late, it should be started early to promote early fruiting. Green fruit with deep red center, berry tasting.
Nero 600m – This one gave me fruit after Negronne did.
Vista – I had lots of Brebas on this one, but only a few main. The brebas were quite tasty and a pleasant early producer. (early June in Zone 7A)
MBVS – Another common but good fig.
Black Greek – Marius strain, this one was my favorite fig this year.
Sicilian Red – this was one of my husband’s favorite fig this year.
Plus an extra mystery cutting or 2 depending on the pack as I don’t have enough of these to include in all packages.
Please assume all my fig were exposed to FMV and no shipping to HI, AK or outside of the USA.
Please email at twovkay@yahoo.com and wait for confirmation before sending money via Paypal. The cuttings will be sent out this Monday, Nov. 23, 2015.
Thanks,
Von
