Since I have pruned to large fig trees I will be sending out cutting to people and want to send the best cuttings. What are the right size? I have some that are pretty thick and wonder if they are good or not. I don't want to waste them, but if there no good i'll toss. Thanks for your help.

To me, any size is good. At least 2 nodes and 6- 8 inches long. If done properly, anything can be rooted.

Any size will root.  I personally prefer cuttings that are smaller in diameter than my thumb and about 7"-8" in length with at least two full nodes.

As a rule of thumb, I always cut a quarter inch BELOW the joint on the bottom of the cutting and a quarter inch ABOVE the joint on the top of the cutting.  Think of the space between joints as an "energy container", and each joint (line) on the cutting is like the end cap of the container.  If you breach the container (the joint), the pith inside will eventually rot and the cutting will hollow out.

To help some, it might be helpful to cut the top at an angle and the bottom straight or vise versa, so others can tell which end is up.

The larger cuttings tend to take a longer time to root at least that has been my experience. Also, with the larger cuttings shipping costs may come into play. Other than that, making sure there are healthy nodes is the most important part.

Thanks all, you made it easy and clear to follow. Since the larger cutting are not the best to use, I will experiment with them.
