Remove it. It'll just zap energy from the cutting.

Not sure but that might be a bud breaking. I would wait till you know for sure If it is a fig then remove
Sal

Mine are doing the same.  I have mine potted in a mixture of sphnagnum and vermiculite.  I am going to wait and see what happens wth them.

Picture is blurry but that green part looks to have a pointed end which would indicate a bud .

I agree with Fatnsassytexan 100%. Yes, the pic is blurry,
but I can still see the (un-welcome/useless) figlet...

As far as draining of energy goes, it has something to do
with nature's way of reproduction (seeds, in fig-terms).
Think of a starving mother & child, and where any available food may go...

Clearer Pic. it is a fig for sure

Now i can see its defintely a fig with new better picture.

Well this is big enough to be easily recognized as fig, however, when the fig embryo is very small it can be differentiated from emerging shoot because fig embryo top is either roundish (or a bit flattish) with a pin head dot gradually becoming visible in the centre while, on the other hand, the emerging shoot will have a tip like appearance at the top. (less roundish).
I remove it as soon as I am sure that it is a fig embryo.

How can I tell which is new growth and which is a figlet that needs to be removed?   Attached are some pictures of e doing.

It should have said  "Attached are some pictures of what mine are doing."

I removed it
 Thanks

hey guys, the same thing happened with my cuttings from mimi too. looks exactly like a baby fig. i don't think i have the will power to remove it! its the only thing that looks alive on my cuttings. i think all my cuttings are dead, i don't even see initials...

I finally pulled off what might have been figs.  I'm still not sure but I did it.  At least I have baby leave on the one where I pulled the figlets(?).
