cutting will be sent out soon after christmas.

been away from the forum for awhile. too much things going on. had my last fig at the end of nov. gene's paradiso. it had definite melon taste. very good, but not much of fig taste to it. it would be great with some prosciutto, and light wine.

started brewing again. just brewed a gallon of mead and waiting for it to finish fermenting.

the cuttings i have promised to people will be cut during the christmas vacation, and will be sent out. i'll send PM to those to get the address around that time.

if i made promise and you do not hear from me by mid jan., please PM me. i kept a note, but i might be missing someone.

Happy fermenting Pete....mead, one of my favorites!  I make a killer red raspberry melomel.   Have a spiced fig melomel aging now....looks promising.

Hi Pete and Sara.

I started some fermenting a couple of weeks ago myself. I started some Fig and Concord Grape about that time. I also just started 5 gal of Persimmon wine last night.

I'm not holding out too much hope for the fig wine but it's not quite finished yet either. So we will see on that one. I've done the Concord a couple of times and I always like the flavor of it. This will be my first time with Persimmon but I think it's going to be pretty nice. I've heard that native persimmons make a rather brownish colored wine. So it won't be pretty but it supposed be quite tastey.

Sara, if we get together at Mario's again in the summer, we'll have to do some wine trading :-) . I plan to visit him in the spring to help him graft some
Oriental Persimmons.
