I thought I would show some pictures of my cuttings at 3 1/2 months they are really doing super this year, I started them in coir and repotted them in pro-mix and have been using MaxiGro 10-5-14 that was recommended to me by my local hydroponics store , started them at 1/4 strength and worked them up to 1/2 strength seems like a great fertilizer everything is very green and lush, the only problem is the shelf is a little too small , once you take them down to water them it's like a jigsaw puzzle getting them back on the shelf, time to order another unit. __________________ Connecticut - Zone 6B Wish List - Bordissot negra rimada

Dave, wow! Those plants are looking swell! Awesome job! I've been having a lot of trouble with my cuttings this year, but seeing how much progress they've made with your method gives me hope.

Very inspiring when i see some grate work. Thanks for the tip. And is maxigro a dry fertilizer. I looked it up on ebay and it said dry. Wow, those figs look like they're on steroids. I am going to have to use grow lights next year, that looks like a nice setup.

It's mind blowing going into one of those hydroponic stores the choices are endless, not like the old days where there were 3 different fertilizers to choose from. The guy had a little experiment going on in the store 2 different flats of sunflower seeds, one in straight coir "with no fertilizer" and the other using coir the MaxiGro and the difference was night and day __________________ Connecticut - Zone 6B Wish List - Bordissot negra rimada

Quick questions, Dave. Did you start in cups of coir and pot up to 1 gallons or once they showed promise in the coir (ie. buried horizontally in a bag or container), you immediately placed them in 1 gallons? If you automatically placed them in 1 gallons, how long did it take you to start watering? It's been almost two months for me in 1 gallon pots and I still haven't watered. __________________ Alma from zone 7b.

Wow, great looking cuttings for 3-1/2 months!! My 3-1/2 month cuttings have gone outdoors. I've got some rooting, but they'll go outside soon, too. __________________ USDA Zone 9b Wish list: Abruzzi, Pasquale, Tagliacozzo, Zingarella, Godfather. Any unk Italian, especially from Abruzzo.
