So far, out of 6 test cuttings I did something stupid and killed two. 4 have rooted fine. I gave one to forum member, and potted two for sis-in-laws. Last one is for MIL.

Now out of 6 unknown Israeli red, one I got rid of since it's getting non stop mold. All the rest, 5, are showing root on the top of the soil. It's been 3 weeks and 2 days since I got the cuttings. Out of 5, only one is showing very thin root coming through the peat pot. UIR is about 1.5 weeks behind test groups.

One question I have is regarding the leaf one the UIR that's showing root outside of the peat pot. It had very nice leaf for number of days now. Then today when I was checking it, I saw brown edge. What could be the issue? Could the leaf drying up? I air the bin about 2 hrs daily. However, overnight the humility is always back to 70%.

Should I just not worry about it?

Does it appear to be dry brown, like dry leaf curl?  Any chance you can take a photo?   I know in my minute experience rooting when my leaf edge on the cutting became brown the entire leaf eventually rotted and died. But then another leaf quickly followed behind.  But, that was just my experience.

(Out of curiosity, do you own a grown UIR?)

i don not have fully grown UIR. they are all cuttings. this being my first set of cuttings ever, i'm not sure if they will make it to next year. i'm hoping at least two will survive. i want to give one to my good friend who loves figs.

at 12, 1, 5, 6, and 7 o'clock are UIR. the one at 11 o'clock is unknown test cutting.

you can see the leaves coming out on 12, 6 and 7. all UIR has roots. only one on 12 has roots coming through the peat pot, but the root is very thin at this point and it's only 1/4" through the peat pot.
