cuttings... no roots but new green growth

hiya everyone
bought some cuttings and first did a week with water and no roots ( could have been temp problem)
so I put it in towel  ziplock bag... no roots but some have new green growth on some cuttings...
read that it could be too hot and humid...
I bought perlite which I haven't used but im thinking of cutting a little bit off each bottom cuttings and using root hormone and putting in coir.... its been a couple weeks has anyone tried successfully in using root hormone after other experiments failed or should root hormone be use only after freshly cut cuttings...
thanx

I had a similar results.   10 cuttings from one source and 30 from a local branch.  8 of the 10 rooted and budded. 2 of the 30 took root very slow and late.  I tried over the summer several times 30-40 total almost all died I took 6 that seemed to be alive but no roots, applied clone X all rooted and buded. 2 are behind the others.  the forum cautions that excess hormone slows leaf formation, maybe the 2 that are behind in leaf.

Thanx bill I'm headin to home depot to get rooting hormone... they don't have clone x.. I think I'm going to scrape a little bit off the bark til green is showing then dip in solution... I dont think they have coir might opt for moss instead... in hindsight I think as a newbie i should have started off with gallon plants

Jaylyne,

If you need another source for CloneX, I bought some from Amazon.  It was harder to find in our area.

DO NOT root cuttings under a light source until you see roots! Keep them in complete darkness! This will help prevent bud break.

Now that your buds have broken, you're gonna have to keep them in the light, but give them a lot of humidity. Letting those leaves dry out will be very bad.

Thank you fig eater I will check it out... thanks for advice Ross I wonder why the roots hasn't developed but the leaves were forming... at least the cuttings are still viable... hopefully in a few weeks I will have good update
