Cuttings - Observation

Some semi green cuttings I tried to root have died and after careful observation I noticed what may be the reason for this sad outcome.
The soft tissue a semi green cutting has inside, has vanished and the hollow space makes the cutting vulnerable to whatever you may think of.

One possible solution may be using a special paste for plant wounds.

LOST: As Karen DeGroot herself has written, "careful observation is the only key to true and complete awareness"

Looks like it just dried out.

Moisture is your friend and enemy. Sometimes I have enough wood left that I cut up until I find good solid white center and green outer layer. This is as long as I have at least one node left.

I have saved many this way. I have yet to seal any wounds or cuts. Figs seem to be very good at resisting most viruses.
