Thanks, Coop!!!
My cuttings came in today, they are beautiful! thank you! If these take, this will make me happy the rest of the year :)
Hey coop951, do you still have cuttings available? The history behind this is really interesting!
Coop, you've outdone yourself! Thanks so much. PM me with your current wish list, so that I might return the favor... Blue
Thank you Coop! You are very generous. Val
Hey Coop...Thanks so much! You are a very generous person! Hats off to you! : )
Hey Coop...Cuttings received today! They look great.I can't wait to root these bad boys! This fig tree is going to be a real conversation piece.
Hey Coop - hope you still having cuttings. I just sent you a Pay Pal payment.
Does anybody have any growth yet? I put one cutting in water and got growth within a few weeks. The other cuttings I put in dirt and I saw growth on one a few days ago! How is everybody else doing? Thank you again Coop! If I ever have cuttings that you want, just let me know. Don Corleone never forgets his friends!
Nothing yet, I have two in baggies and one lying in Coco Coir in a Tupperware. I am in NY and the weather is not helping
Two out of three have rooted and are potted up and growing good. The 3rd cutting is still looking good but is stuck in fig limbo. I'm going to give it another week then if nothing starts then I'll recut it to see if it will trigger it into sending out some roots.
Has anyone seen the fruit from this tree? I am more interested in the actual fruit that it produces than it's movie star status. If it produces great figs then the movie star status makes it an excellent tree :)
I don't believe anybody has seen pictures of the fruit yet
My cuttings are in water, they have tons of initials and I think I'm starting to see tiny roots. Hopefully I will pot them in petite and put in the shade outside when it warms up. I promised one to my dear friend who lost a lot in hurricane Sandy. I'm looking forward to sharing our Godfather fig stories.
after reading some stories here, I pulled one out of the baggies yesterday and put it into water. This one I am very interest in rooting, this will be a showcase fig tree ;)Sandy destroyed my whole landscape Valerie.
Mine are doing good, the tallest one is almost 6" tall. It is in the ground from the very beginning and the happiest cutting of all.
Peter C, sorry your landscape was destroyed by Sandy. The water came up from the beach and stopped about 3 blocks away from our house on our street during Sandy. Good luck with the Godfather tree!
Thanks, life is much better now and the future fig trees look promising :)
Hey Coop,I keep coming back to this post....Like I try to get out and it pulls me back in! I'm intrigued...How do the figs from this tree taste? What do they look like?I passed through Corleone, once briefly...It's pretty cool.....
